I am a student video game designer from Norwich University of the Arts.
Intro
I have been gaming since I could hold a joystick. But have always enjoyed the creativity of gaming even more than the game play. So my favorite games were Little Big Planet (1 & 2), Minecraft, and editing maps for Counter Strike Global Offensive using the SDK. I have been studying games design for five years, it will be six by the end of this term. I have always enjoyed the concept making process, and this has been my favorite part of the development cycle.
Work
During my education there has been consistent opportunity to produce games within a game jam environment. Some of this is on my itch.io, which is linked above. My most recent game jam is linked here. It is on my teammates itch.io [https://lucrette.itch.io/drunkensteins-monster]. When I create games, I like to take inspiration from hobbies, such as, urban exploring, bird watching, jewellery making and so on.
I take pride in the fact that my games have been considered to be out of the box ideas, and fit a niche audience, they are not your average game concept. I feel that this is refreshing for the games industry.
Rootabaga is a video game that I produced during the two day development period of the international games jam, which I was very proud to be a part of. The link to this jam site is below where you can down load amd play the game from my team members itch.io. .https://globalgamejam.org/2023/games/rootabaga-0

My CV
I have not held a professional games development position, however throughout my education I have gathered knowledge and experience in ways you would receive in a professional environment. When in my academic career I have led different teams within game jam environments, and have always met the deadline. I have also made games individually, doing all the roles independently which are required to make a game.
I have attained work experience working on an archaeological unit for Cambridge University. Although this does not give me experience within the games industry, this adds to my personal creative arsenal and through this experience I have also learnt to work within teams and respond to management levels.
