Backstory

I studied Game and Interactive Media Design at NUA. I’ve led brutal 48-hour Unreal Engine jams, built creatures in Blender, and told stories through gameplay. But I’m not just a designer—I’m a collector, a maker, a builder. I love history. Detail. Physical things. Digital things. I love making something that wasn’t there before

I have been gaming since I could hold a joystick. But I have always enjoyed the creativity of gaming even more than the game play. So my favourite games were Little Big Planet (1 & 2), Minecraft, and editing maps for Counter Strike Global Offensive using the SDK.

I came out of six years of education with a feeling that I wasn't done yet. So I carried on. I took the time to teach myself to sculpt. I’ve got this passion for physical form. As a natural progression from digital environments and human computer interaction. Plus there’s something visceral about a round mallet and an italian steel chisel. Whittling knives and a dremel. I craft many forms from Celtic stone sculptures to a range of desk wizards carved to elevate the art of rubber duck debugging, each with their own narrative world.

That's also why I work at Kettles Yard in Cambridge, an art gallery. I’m fascinated with immersive worlds. And I wanted to expand my artistic understanding to give me a broader palette to introduce to my game design. And it hones my customer service and interpersonal skills as well.

History and authenticity have led me to spend time preparing, categorising and cataloguing archaeological finds at Cambridge University, both in the department and then literally getting my hands dirty with a spot of field archaeology during the summer holidays for the Cambridge Archaeological Unit. I loved that.
